Freedom Fest - A Salute to Heroes

All, I spoke with Erin Minor last Wednesday, the subject of today's article below,and was impressed by her invitation to local MOAS Veterans to come to their Freedom Fest and personally receive their salute, if possible. This is yet another opportunity to enhance MOAS community visibility and relations, while supporting local organizations, like Harvest House, trying to help struggling Veterans to stabilize their lives. If you can attend this event, please let Erin (and me) know that you will be there so that she can have you on her list of representative Veterans for tribute. Thanks for considering this event on your schedule, if you can, and for passing the word!

Thank you for taking the time to talk to me on the phone this morning! As mentioned, Harvest House, in partnership with The Harvest Church, is honoring first responders and military personnel on July 4th from 4pm to 7pm on the corner of Beneva Rd & 17th Street at Harvest Park. This Salute to Heroes will include the Sarasota Sheriff’s Department, City Police, Fire Department, and branches of the military. We’d love to honor veterans from your association who have fought valiantly for this great nation. Also, if there is flag presentation, etc the veterans would like to perform that would be great!

This is a free event that includes food, live music, and games for all ages. Please see the attached flyer and feel free to contact me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!

Please find below the May 2015 issue of the MOAS monthly newsletter, The Sarasota Breeze, as well as a separate Reservation Form for you to use when making your reservation for the May Luncheon on Friday May 15th at Michael’s on East. (Please note the luncheon price of $27 per person.) This is our Scholarship Luncheon – and our speaker will be Cassandra Holmes, Exec Director of the State College of Florid a Foundation.

Please support our scholarship program by attending the luncheon and donating additional luncheon reservations for the students and their parents.
